It bears witness to a thousand years of architectural changes which include:
- a romanesque transept with original capitals from the 11th century
- a vast 3 storey gothic choir
- a circular cloister of radiating chapels
- a vast array of furniture (Stalls and reredos)
A listed building, it was damaged in 1944 during the Liberation and was restored under the care of the Fine Arts Academy.
Every year many visitors make their way here and are most impressed at the harmony and quality of the restauration.
